Trial lessons

Want to try whether competitive swimming is for you and experience ZV Torpedo? You can experience this in 2 trial lessons to see whether you want to become a member. You do not need to have any experience with competitive swimming to take the trail lesson. It is required that you have at least diploma C (or equivalent). Trial swimming is only possible during the training sessions on Wednesday (17:30-18:30) or Saturday (8:00 - 9:00). If people already have experience with competitive swimming, please indicate this in the form.

Join us

Have you tried the two trial lessons and want to become a member? You can join us through the contact form on this website. The Torpedo membership can start at any time, while the membership year runs from 1st of January to 31st of December. The membership fee is €350 a year. The membership fee is determined every year during the General Members Meeting in the first quarter of the year.

Competition

At first glance, competitive swimming may seem like an individual sport, but in reality, it is a true team sport. As a team, we work together to improve our standings. During competitions, we also swim relays, where collaboration with other swimmers is essential. Everyone contributes in their own way to the success of the club, from coaches and competition secretaries to volunteers like timers and meet officials. Their dedication is crucial for the sport. It’s important for swimmers to participate in as many competitions as possible, so we can collectively strive for the best results. This requires not only a serious commitment from the swimmers but also their dedication to the team and the club. Participation in competitions is not optional; it’s a responsibility we share as a team. By actively participating, we demonstrate our commitment not just to ourselves, but also to our teammates and the club as a whole. Only together can we fully realize our potential and achieve our goals.

Sign-up for Volunteer Position

Use the contactform to sign up for a volunteer position. By doing so, you agree that a VOG (Certificate of Good Conduct) will be requested for you at no cost.

Membership fees ZV Torpedo 2024

The membership fees are determined annually at the General Members Meeting. The fee is set at 350 EURO / year (2024). The collection is automatic and done quarterly. The following rules apply regarding contribution and collection of contributions:

• The membership period runs from January to December
• Contribution collection is preferably done by direct debit, unless stated otherwise when registering
• If it is not possible to train for a long time, it is possible to pause the contribution payment, with a maximum of 1 year. Minimum costs (KNZB registration fees) remain due
• The fixed costs (including KNZB registration costs) will be included in the first quarter to be settled. Membership registrations in the last month of a quarter will be moved to the new quarter
• You can cancel your membership per quarter, but minimum subscription payment is 2 quarters
• To avoid being excused for the new year's contribution, cancel before December 1 of the current year
